Unbreakable (Legion, Book #1) by Kami Garcia
October 1, 2013

Supernatural meets The Da Vinci Code in this action-packed paranormal thriller, the first book in a new series from New York Times bestselling author Kami Garcia.
I never believed in ghosts. Until one tried to kill me.
When Kennedy Waters finds her mother dead, her world begins to unravel. She doesn’t know that paranormal forces in a much darker world are the ones pulling the strings. Not until identical twins Jared and Lukas Lockhart break into Kennedy’s room and destroy a dangerous spirit sent to kill her. The brothers reveal that her mother was part of an ancient secret society responsible for protecting the world from a vengeful demon — a society whose five members were all murdered on the same night.
Now Kennedy has to take her mother’s place in the Legion if she wants to uncover the truth and stay alive. Along with new Legion members Priest and Alara, the teens race to find the only weapon that might be able to destroy the demon — battling the deadly spirits he controls every step of the way.
Suspense, romance, and the paranormal meet in this chilling urban fantasy, the first book in a new series from Kami Garcia, bestselling coauthor of the Beautiful Creatures novels.

I loved the Beautiful Creatures novels, and this book looks so promising! Plus, look at that cover. It's so gorgeous and...powerful.

  1. "Supernatural meets Da Vinci Code" - okay I'm hooked. Last time I read a 'Da Vinci Code'-like book was Wasserman's "The Book of Blood and Shadow", and I freaking loved it! We need more novels like this. Great pick - thanks for visiting :)

  2. I have to say that I haven't loved the Caster Chronicles series that she wrote with Margaret Stohl, but maybe this one will be better! Good pick!

    1. Yeah, I've heard many different opinions on the Caster Chronicles, but I really loved them. Either way, I hope this book will live up to its expectations!

  3. I'm very curious about this one. Sounds like it has some real potential but I haven't read the Caster Chronicles yet so I'll have to see what people think of this one! That blurb certainly sounds interesting, though!
Thanks for stopping by my WoW earlier. :)

  5. Hmm, the cover's creepy - which is a plus. Unfortunately, this author is not a favorite of mine (nor was The Da Vinci Code). So I'll probably be passing on this one. But who knows? Maybe all those who read it will push me to read it.

    Thanks for visiting my WoW.
